ROLE OF A MENTOR

A Mentor is not responsible for the sole pastoring or shepherding of their mentee. Ministry should flow in both directions. A Mentor will foster a whole-life discipleship environment, honor confidentiality & ensure mentorship logistics are covered.

PROCESS TO BECOME A MENTOR

  • Complete all Mentorship Training Videos
  • Submit a Formal Mentor Application
  • Be Interviewed by a Team Member
  • Be a Member of Bent Tree
  • Pass a Background Check

How Mentorship Matching Works

Thank you for your willingness to invest in others through mentorship. Please note that mentor–mentee matching is a thoughtful and prayerful process based on the criteria provided in each application, including availability, life stage, experience, and specific goals. Because of this, placement is not always immediate. We appreciate your patience as we work to create meaningful and healthy matches that serve both mentors and mentees well.

Mentorship is an important element of the discipleship journey. It is often the most personal and intimate discipleship method for learning God’s truths, growing in caring relationships, knowing God more, and serving others, all in the context of intimate one-on-one relationships.
