Our Bent Tree Special Needs Ministry believes that God made each individual in his image, and it is our privilege to walk alongside these valuable members of our church family. Our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for individuals with special needs: physical, intellectual, mental, behavioral, or any combination.
Due to the recent growth of our Special Needs ministry, new families need to contact Carol Slater, our Special Needs Coordinator, prior to their first visit.
On Sunday mornings, our servant leaders (buddies) pair up with individuals with special needs (friends) to provide support and encouragement during their worship experience. We work with families to assess whether a mainstream environment or a special needs classroom will better meet the needs of each friend. In every environment, worship, Bible stories, and fun are all a part of the Sunday morning experience so each individual can know God and learn about the love of Jesus.
