BECOME A MENTEE

ROLE OF A MENTEE

Mentees are responsible for being committed participants in the discipleship mentorship meetups and agreements. Ministry care should flow in both directions.

  • Prioritize mentorship as part of your discipleship journey and value whole-life spiritual formation.
  • Commit to the process: Show up and invest time, energy, and focus.
  • Pursue honesty and transparency about life, questions, struggles, and growth areas.
  • Respect for mentor’s time, perspective, and personal boundaries.
  • Honor confidentiality.
  • Come prepared with questions, struggles, and/or reflections.
  • Be ready to periodically lead the conversation.
  • Don’t expect your mentor to be a licensed therapist or counselor.
  • Keep communication alive (especially with scheduling changes).

How Mentorship Matching Works:

We’re excited about your desire to grow through mentorship. Our matching process is intentional and based on the information provided in your application, including your goals, life stage, and availability. As a result, placement with a mentor may not happen immediately if your criteria don't match with a mentor. There may also be windows of time where no mentor is available. We ask for your patience as we prayerfully work to connect you with the right mentor at the right time.

Mentorship is an important element of the discipleship journey. It is often the most personal and intimate discipleship method for learning God’s truths, growing in caring relationships, knowing God more, and serving others, all in the context of intimate one-on-one relationships.
