Worship Service March 31, 2019
Statement from the Elders of Bent Tree.
(Not a transcript of the video above.)
As many of you are aware, Pete Briscoe has been on a requested leave of absence over the last several months. Thank you for joining the Elders in praying for Pete and Libby during these months. Though he has been missed, we have been extremely blessed by our teaching and leadership teams as we’ve seen the mission of Bent Tree continue to flourish.
It is with heavy hearts that the Elders of Bent Tree announce that Pete Briscoe has submitted his resignation as Senior Pastor. The Elder Board has accepted Pete’s decision, and his resignation is effective March 31, 2019. Pete has offered to be available to help with the transition.
Pete and Libby love Bent Tree and desire what is best for our Body. We all dearly love Pete and Libby and want the very best for them. We are grateful for their investment that has impacted untold thousands of people over 28 years, yet we have hope and trust in a great Savior who will lead us through this transition into our next season of ministry and the leadership of His church. God’s plan for Bent Tree far exceeds the tenure of any one pastor, as our ultimate leader is Jesus.
We know this is difficult news to receive and stirs many feelings and emotions. We are praying for each of you as you now process this message and in the coming weeks.
We understand you may have questions, and our staff will be more than happy to speak with you.
